Results

Arena Division

1st Place - Holy Family, Animal Crackers, 250 Points, 48.78 seconds
2nd Place - Good Shepherd, The UnKnowns, 225 Points, 37.04 seconds
3rd Place - St. Patrick, Team #1, 225 Points, 38 seconds

Invention Division

1st Place - Christ the King, Red Team, 112.5 Points
2nd Place - Christ the King, Gold Team, 111 Points
3rd Place - Holy Trinity, Go Tigers #3, 89 Points

Rules:

  • There will be two divisions

    • Arena (either kit may be used)

    • Inventions (either kit may be used)

  • Arena teams will consist of 2 - 4 members

  • Invention teams will consist of 2 - 6 members

  • Students may be a member of only one team

  • Students in grades 4 - 8 may compete

  • Each school may enter up to six arena teams and three invention teams for a total of nine teams

  • One adult sponsor for each division will be required for supervision

  • Registration closes on April April 17, 2009

  • NO late registration will be allowed

  • NO changes may be made to a team after April 17, 2009, except to remove a team member

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded for each division

General Competition Information:

  • Registration Fee - $25 per division (make check payable to CSO)

  • Each school who has paid their arena entry fee they will receive 1 practice mat, 2 coke cans, 1 bundle of paper, and 3 trees

  • Robots brought to the contest must have been built and programmed entirely by the student team members

  • Only registered students and one adult supervisor Per team) will be allowed in the team work area

  • ONLY students are allowed to touch the laptop/computer and/or robot except when technical problems with the computer occur

  • Robots may be programmed using Robolab, Mindstorm, or another programming language

  • All students must display their nametag

Location Information:

  • April 28, 2009

  • St. Monica - Family Center

  • Team check-in starts at 8:30

  • Competition for all divisions starts at 9:30

  • Concession stand will be open

Pre-Contest Sponsor Workshop:

  • January 16, 2009

  • Christ the King

  • 8:30 - 1:00

  • Coaches and or sponsors may attend

  • Need to bring a kit already built

  • Will be programming the robot and attempting the actual competition course

  • Will receive materials if registration fee has been paid (actual team registration does not have to be done at this point in time)

  • May bring registration check with you on the 16th
